2017 is a good year for fighting games- a genre that has been pretty niche over the years due to its steep learning curve. With the rise of the competitive scene and esports, the genre is seeing another wave of revival with a plethora of games coming this year. However, one big question still lingers: how can a fighting game attract the casual crowd without sacrificing its appeal to the competitive players?
NetherRealm Studios certainly know the answer to that. They are one of the developers that remains ahead when it comes to providing good content in fighting games.
Injustice 2 continues that pedigree, by bringing in loot boxes and gear into a fighting game based on [...]
‘Hana Song, also known as “D.Va”, is both a world champion professional gamer and a burgeoning global icon. As a member of South Korea’s elite MEKA unit, she fights to protect her homeland from the colossal Omnic threat lurking within the East China Sea.’Introduction
The mighty mobile tank that is D.Va has grace the Nexus with her presence, along with the Nexus 2.0 Challenge, (which is ending at the time of writing). Now, how does this cutesy pilot with her pink mech play in Heroes? Quite like Lucio beforehand, she is similar to her Overwatch counterpart.Character Design
D.Va and her mech are nicely rendered in Heroes with a lot of nice color variation of [...]
Cassia is the new hero in the Nexus. Based on the Javelin Amazon-archetype from Diablo 2, Cassia shows her might with the power of thunder against the foes of darkness.
Her trait is called Avoidance, where she automatically gains 65 Physical Armor (or 65% damage reduction on Basic Attacks dealt by other Heroes) while moving. This means while playing as Cassia, it is vital that you keep in movement while attacking, also known as stutter-stepping, to effectively use her trait. It is also very useful especially for scenarios where she can push with either an objective (in maps like Battlefield of Eternity / Braxis [...]
Delay after delay after delay, Persona 5 finally arrives in English. The long awaited sequel to the Persona series, originally a spin-off from Atlus’s Shin Megami Tensei series, is finally here. Persona has been around for more than 20 years and the latest addition, Persona 5, carries over the lineage that made them a mainstream success starting with Persona 3 and 4 while bringing back the darker tones and some gameplay elements that was seen in the first Persona and the Persona 2 duology.
That 20 years of lineage certainly pays off in a big way.
There’s just so much love and care being given to Persona 5 that even if the core gameplay (and story) feels like [...]
The most important thing for a PC gamer to have for their custom built rig is a PC monitor that helps round it up in the end. Monitors nowadays come in many different shapes and sizes, and with the latest trend of curve monitors seeing companies like Acer and LG bring out their own rendition late last year, here comes Samsung with their challenger, the Samsung CFG70 Gaming Monitor. And boy does it curve.Wide & Curvy
At 27 inches, it a big monitor and hopefully you’ll have enough room for the monitor and its rotating stand, as it helps to move the monitor screen around your desk, table or wherever you might put this monitor on. Only gripe I had with [...]
It’s ironic how the setup for the new entry of Mass Effect reflects so much on how its development went. A cast of familiar but entirely different people, thinking of a bright new beginning only to find out their leadership is gone and they have now grossly underestimate the undertaking of the journey they are getting into.
In Mass Effect: Andromeda, the entire cast revolves around the Andromeda Initiative- a group of thousands of Milky Way species that are making their way to find a new home in the Andromeda galaxy. Some of the people here are looking for a better life- some, like the Ryder family, their scarred reputation means going to a new galaxy is the only way to [...]
