Quake Champions Announced, Bringing Arena Shooters For E-Sports
Bethesda started its E3 press conference with a bang. An MS-DOS interface booting Quake.
The multiplayer-focused arena FPS will bring back the old school multiplayer mayhem the series is known for, with a slight hint on focusing it to be proper e-sports.
To their credit, the old Quake games did have a scene of pro-players. Hopefully a new entry of Quake will call in the old guards, both pros and fans, as well as capture some new audience tired of the general military shooter.
Here’s the trailer:
More info on Quake Champions will be revealed at QuakeCon this August.
