Doom 2016 was one surprising release. All the lead up to the game, the rumoured cancellation of Doom 4, the first gameplay of the reboot looking not as faithful as Doom fans expected, and a tepid reception to the multiplayer beta. Despite all that, the single-player campaign was rather good, really good in fact. But the multiplayer still needed some work.
With the new update, hilariously designated as update 6.66, the multiplayer suite is getting a major overhaul. The progression is switched from unlocking items via random loot boxes to the tried and true method of unlocking items through reaching new levels and doing specific challenges. This will reset the levels of all [...]
Titanfall 2 is the game that keeps on giving. It has a pretty solid single-player campaign on launch, multiplayer is constantly updated with free maps and now the game has an extra new mode, or free.
The new mode, Frontier Defense, is a four-player co-op mode where you have to defend your Harvester against five waves of enemies. It’s essentially a take on Gears of War’s Horde mode but with some twists.
You will also gain Aegis Ranks for your Titans in this mode, which will unlock more abilities exclusive for Frontier Defense. There will be three difficulty tier as well as an extra Insane difficulty for those who want to test themselves.
Five maps [...]

Rainbow Six Siege is pausing its release of major additions- such as new operators and maps- to focus on fixing its back-end called Operation Health. As part of the major haul, a new update will now add Alpha Packs, the game’s take on a loot box system.

EA has announced that the much anticipated multiplayer FPS Star Wars Battlefront II is getting an open beta which starts on October 6, with players that pre-ordered getting earlier access on October 4.
Two modes have been confirmed so far. One is Galactic Assault on Naboo. This is the mode that made its debut on EA’s E3 stage that involves a 40 player battle between the Seperatist droids versus the Republic clone army. With tight city streets and open space up above for dogfights, it should be a good first impression of what the new Battlefront II will offer just as the battle on Hoth did for the first new Battlefront.
There will be another map and mode called [...]
Destiny’s Tower is one memorable social space. It’s where you do all your shopping as well as just stroll around and see your fellow players hanging around or do a random dance off. With the Tower and all your loot gone at the start of Destiny 2, the guardians will now have a new social space that will fit 25 players at one time. It’s a farm. There’s even chickens roaming about.
The Farm is turned into a refugee camp which will evolve over time as you go through the story. The various shops are still here and new to the game are activities you can do in the social space. You can play football (as in soccer for North American folks call it) with scores [...]
