It has been one year since Overwatch first launched. It was so well accepted it has now 30 million players, and has since been regularly updated with new modes, cosmetics, maps and heroes.
To celebrate its one year anniversary, a new limited time event has appeared. Coming with that is a ton of new cosmetics (legendary skins, new dance emotes) as well as an additional three arena maps for duels (which were only limited to only one before this).
If you have yet to buy Overwatch, it is currently on sale on all platforms as well.
We gave a glowing review when Overwatch first released, and after a year it still remains one of the more satisfying team shooters out [...]
During the Destiny 2 press release event, it was revealed that the PC version of the multiplayer online FPS will be available exclusively via the Blizzard App. It is an unprecedented move, as games under the Activision brand of Activision Blizzard have always been launched on other launchers on PC. The use of the Blizzard App will let players of Destiny 2 use all the features of that launcher, from friend lists to Facebook Live streaming.
It will be possible to use Blizzard Balance, real-life money that can be added with a card and also gained from other in-game currencies, like World Of Warcraft (WoW) Tokens.
WoW Tokens are special currency that can be used to extend [...]
A new video about the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront II has been released. The new Battlefront II (not to be confused with Pandemic’s original take of the series) will feature the hectic multiplayer action helmed by DICE in addition to a full single-player campaign led by EA Motive with space battles handled by former Burnout developers Criterion Games. The story campaign is penned by Walt Williams, who was responsible for the brilliant Spec Ops: The Line and former IGN editor Mitch Dyer.
The video discusses the decision to tell the campaign story from the Imperial perspective, which will entail explore more grey areas in the galaxy far, far away. Plans of bridging the [...]
Destiny 2 is coming this year, September 8 to be exact. Developers Bungie is now ready to unveil some gameplay footage of the online FPS. And so far, it looks like a nice step up.
Here’s the official gameplay trailer, but it’s more of a montage of the action rather than a full gameplay trailer. If you’re pressed for time, you can check it out here.
However, there is a longer gameplay reel as seen in the premier livestream. Here is the opening mission of Destiny 2 called Homecoming, showing more substantial gameplay as well as cinematics.
Destiny 2 looks to improve some of the missteps seen from the launch of Destiny with better storytelling as [...]
Prey, the horror FPS immersive sim cut from the cloths of System Shock, Bioshock, Deus Ex and Dishonored, is out now. Interestingly the game offered an early demo before launch, something rarely seen today, but it’s limited to only on consoles. An odd choice, since PC gamers would be the one to be of most benefit of a demo- as it helps determine if the setup you have is fit for the game even if the specs requirements are shared.
Developers Arkane have given a statement why is it so in an interview with Ausgamers. Game director Raphael Colantonio explained that they could only do either a console demo or a PC demo. “It’s just a resource assignment thing. We [...]
Paladins, the hero-shooter from the folks behind SMITE, has finally landed on the PS4. The PC version launched last year and due to the timing, it was heavily compared to the other popular hero shooter Overwatch. However, as time has passed Hi-Rez has made numerous changes to the gameplay and has since added more maps and champions to choose from.
Paladins had a lengthy closed and beta on PS4 before the launch today, so expect the game to have fairly acclimated for console play. You can go download the game for free here. If you’re looking for an FPS with character abilities this is a good and free alternative to try out.
