Gran Turismo Sport is slowly, yet surely making its way out after missing its initial launch window of November last year. A closed beta session has been running for a while in the US and have since rolled out to Europe. Today, PS4 players in Asia can now sign up as well.
The closed beta will allow you to race with the AI, do time trials as well as participate in Sport mode, the online racing component of the game. You can participate in daily races and unlock random cars as you keep on playing. There’s a Sportmanship ranking that keep tracks of your behaviour on the track, so good clean racing should in theory be rewarded with more races with clean drivers while those [...]
It’s coming together soon enough. Just after a few days of some news about Gran Tursimo Sport finally revealed for the year- the inclusion of the Fittipladi EF7 Vision GT Car and a partnership with Tag Heuer- now we got a more meaty announcement: a closed beta test.
When GT Sport first announced back in 2015, it was planned to have a beta test. But as we have seen in its first big reveal at its own event in London, the beta was eventually scrapped as Polyphony was gearing towards the November 2016 release. Obviously that did not happen, and early rumours of an early 2017 release is untrue.
But the beta announcement signals that the game is coming together [...]
It’s a good week for Gran Turismo fans.
During the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, Brazilian Formula 1 champion Emerson Fittipaldi and Kazunori Yamauchi, series Producer and Vice President of Sony Interactive, unveil the latest addition in the Vision GT series: The Fittipaldi EF7.
The car was designed to be Fittipaldi’s dream track car, fusing the vision of the champion, with iconic Italian design from Pininfarina and race-bred German engineering from HWA AG to fulfills his dream to produce a car with fierce performance, for drivers of all skill levels.
The car will be exclusively available in the upcoming Gran Turismo Sport with exactly the same [...]
If the rumours of a January release for Gran Turismo Sport to be true, it needed to be announced at Playstation Experience. We did see more GT Sport, and it’s looking really, really good so far. But no release date was given, just an assurance that it will be out next year. We thought this could be the quickest Gran Turismo to be released after announcements, but for fans, such delays are the norm.
But hey, the new trailer looks fantastic like what Gran Turismo also has been: it’s visually car porn. Take a look below:
Features like 4K, HDR and VR support was mentioned in [...]
Gran Turismo Sport should have been close to release by now, but alas a delay eventually happened, pushing the mainline racing franchise on the Playstation to a 2017 window (though rumours saying it could be as early as January). In a recent PS4 Pro showcase event to the media over at London, GT Sport was shown both to run on the PS4 Pro hardware as well as support PSVR functionalities.
As expected, GT Sport can be played in 4K (not native, probably using the checkerboard technique to upscale it to 4K) abut will remain at a steady 60fps. HDR is also in effect. For PSVR however, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi [...]
Gran Tursimo delayed? This should not be a shocking news to die-hard GT fans who have used to this. Though it is rather unfortunate as all the build-up for the November release- the big event in London, the cancellation of a beta test- just so it could hit the date. But alas, developers Polyphony Digital will need more time in the oven to get the game in a better state.
Game director Kazunori Yamauchi address the announcement head-on in blog post on the Playstaion Blog US, stating how ambitious the scale of GT Sport is. While the numbers of cars and tracks may not be as bloaty as previous GT games, but having building [...]
