After the intense Overwatch Open finals happening last week, we now see some repercussions on the events that happened last week as major teams have seen some roster shuffles. Some are relatively minor, but some will bring some major changes.

The cinderella story is real. Misfits, against all odds, have now claimed the $100,000 USD prize for winning the Overwatch Open by defeating the North American champions EnVyUs. The major upset happened in the Grand Finals, televised on American TV channel TBS (and Astro’s eGG) in a best of five match, taking the game 3-1. It was devastating for EnVyUs, highly regarded as the top team of North America and one of the best in the world, to lose again to another Europe team, and on the same map. The Overwatch Open is coming to its epic conclusion where 16 Overwatch teams from North America and Europe will be duking it out at Atlanta, Georgia, USA in the LAN finals. While it’s a bummer that the clash between regions will only happen in the last Grand Final game, do expect some tense moments, and sick production values coming from the best teams in Overwatch and the production powerhouses of organisers ELEAGUE, who mostly known in the CS:GO circle with their own televised league.

Overwatch Open is getting to its last stages of its $300,000 USD tournament, the biggest prize pool for an Overwatch tournament organised by ELEAGUE, known for their CS:GO league and high production values.
The tournament has now narrowed down 16 teams- 8 for both NA and EU regions that will compete in the Regional Finals, with the regional champions face off in the Grand Finals that will be televised on American TV. This will all take place in Atlanta, Georgia, USA from the 25th to 30th September.

The $300 000 Overwatch tournament has concluded its online portion with 16 teams now getting ready to a trip to Atlanta at the end of September for the LAN portion. Four weeks of qualifiers, where up to 128 teams each week from both NA and EU region are competing for a spot in the group playoffs where the winner of each week gets top seeding and the top 12 performing teams get a place in the groupings.
