Ratchet & Clank 2016, the game based on the (mediocre) movie based on the (great) game, will receive and update to support PS4 Pro anytime soon. Based on the blog post over at Playstation Blog, developers Insomniac Games is making use of the added hardware power to allow higher resolutions (they did not say 4K, because it’s probably not native 4K even though it will look better on 4K TVs) and better graphical quality on normal 1080p TVs. HDR will also come with the update, so regular PS4 players don’t miss out that much.
It’s unfortunate that the added hardware didn’t result in an increase in [...]
Ratchet & Clank was first released in 2002 for the PS2. Ever since then, there’s 2 sequels and a spin-off on the PS2, two PSP games, two mainline games on the PS3, two downloadable releases, and two spin-offs. That’s.. 12 different titles overall. The physical copy is priced at RM179 and digital versions at RM156. Although physical copy prices may differ depending on who’s selling, the RM156 price point for the digital versions lines up with the 40$ US retail price. Yes, it’s a tad cheaper than the full 60$/RM200+ AAA games out there, and it’s good to see [...]
Ratchet & Clank 2016 is the latest of the long-running Ratchet series by Insomniac Games starting from the original 2002. What’s different this time is that it’s a remake, a reboot and also game made as a movie tie-in. Huh? Apparently, it is true.
Speaking with Engadget, game director Chad Dezern explains that the new Ratchet & Clank aims to recreate the beats of the 2002 original, with modern improvements and conventions, and is not a straight up remake. “It’s about trying to make a game that’s great on its own merits and not just because you remember what it was like the first time you played,” he said. There is [...]
