Mass Effect: Andromeda is out now. It may have some mixed reviews (our own take should be coming soon) but it’s definitely in line with the series’ original trilogy when it comes to its shortcomings. If you have the time, why not sit down and watch Youtuber Raycevick dissects all the three installments featuring Commander Shepard?
The three videos go in length to document the behind-the-scenes aspect of the development as well as general critique, which gives even more context why some questionable design aspectsfor the game had to be done. What kicked off the new IP? How did developers Bioware respond to feedback of the first game to make the Mass Effect 2? Why [...]
Final Fantasy XV may be flawed in some ways, but the systems they paid attention to make the roadtrip of the four boys were certainly brilliant. The idea that your companion Prompto takes photos for you instead of a dedicated photo mode (which was later added in an update) is one bold move that we never see in other games yet.
At the recent GDC, Square Enix shared how exactly they achieve this and it was all made using crafty AI. Led by Prasert “Sun” Prasertvithyakarn, the lead for AI and buddy system, he explains all the reasoning how it came to be and how he and his team implement it. Those pictures certainly were taken from Prompto’s point of view, and a [...]
This should be the last gameplay trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda as it’s gearing up for its March 21 release. This time it’s the multiplayer. First seen in Mass Effect 3, the multiplayer is co-op only and essentially a Horde mode, where you a few other players have to fend of wave upon waves of enemies. Andromeda holds not much different, as you are again dropped with three players to survive the onslaught.
The new gameplay options provided with a more flexible class system and tons of mobility options will shine in multiplayer. Though the use of consumables is just a sneaky way to put micro-transactions- there’s two currencies shown when you can buy [...]
Want to play as the other three bros of Noctis’s crew? Episode Gladiolus, the first substantial DLC for Final Fantasy XV is coming really soon and here’s a glimpse of what you will see when it’s released on March 28.
The DLC is being shown over at PAX East currently, and to celebrate that here’s a new trailer featuring the big man Gladio with his big sword. No sight of his favourite Noodle Cup here, it’s all serious stuff. He’s off in his own journey for a bit with Cor Leonis to undertake the trial of Gilgamesh, which explains why he went off alone in one part of the main game.
Also, controlling Gladio alone has also introduced a bit [...]
The next series of Mass Effect: Andromeda videos showcase the main gameplay loop- how the game will play out in the majority of the game. So far we have seen a bit of combat, now we see how the mission structure works.
Essentially, as one of the Pathfinders from the Milky Way, your task is to find habitable planets where you can establish your new colony here in the Helios cluster of the Andromeda galaxy. While there are hundreds of planets you can probe and examine from your ship, some of them will allow you to land and explore.
The mission structure on the planets are a bit looser this time, like how the original Mass Effect was and similar to Dragon Age: Inquistion, [...]
It’s almost here! Persona 5 has been released in Japan last year to critical acclaim and the English localisation is almost done. As we predicted, Atlus’ parent company Sega is bringing the JRPG’s English release the same time as it release in the US and Europe- April 4. The one day difference is due to timezones.
Playstation Asia is opening pre-orders for Persona 5 already at this link here. The Chinese release will be available a bit earlier on March 23. Pre-orders from local retailers should be available sometime soon now that we know it’s officially coming here.
This should be good news, as the game was originally planned to launch on [...]
