Final Fantasy XV’s next story DLC, Episode Prompto is coming out real soon. Next week, to be accurate. This is the third piece of content tied to the Season Pass and will let you play as the wise-cracking gunslinger Prompto as he embarks on a personal journey.
Episode Prompto will fill in the gap when he ‘left’ the party during the train ride sequence leading to the end of the game. The way he left was one emotionally charged scene, if you were able to notice the subtle storytelling, which sets up a harrowing journey for our otherwise cheery party member.
As for gameplay, expect to see Prompto shooting many people with guns either with a third-person [...]
It must be tough being a Kingdom Hearts fan. The main series takes so long to make, the side-games surrounding them are available across way too many different platforms and any news of development come in very small drip feeds. Recently Tetsuya Nomura said that both Kingdom Heart III and the Final Fantasy VII remake will only arrive in the next few years, which compared to other games nowadays that only announce when the wait time is about only a year, that’s a pretty long wait.
However, the good news is that we do have a new trailer. This trailer was debuted in one of the world tour concerts for the series’ soundtrack and has now been made availble to everyone to [...]
No two Klei games are ever the same, and the indie studio keeps on making newer games each year. As their colony builder and vomiting simulator Oxygen Not Included ramps up progress to an Early Access game, they also started working on a new game- this time it’s an RPG.
Griftlands looks to be taking cues from JRPGs (turn-based battles, overworld map and party members running behind you) as well as CRPGs with mechanics like negotiations and dynamic conversations. “Everything is negotiable: money, loyalty—even morality,” reads the description on Steam.
Like every Klei game, it sports its own distinctive art style, a strong, gutsy 2D look that certainly [...]
Slowly and surely, Bioware is trying to keep their promise in an earlier post to keep adding several more fixes and additions to the decent, but generally lacklustre sequel to the hit RPG series. Update 1.08 is the third round of major updates to be released post-launch and is focused on bringing two big features: an improved character creator and an additional romance option for Scott Ryder.
The improved character creator is.. not that much. You’ll get two additional head preset for each gender, a complexion option and more variety of skin tones. More hairstyles are available but only one of it is truly new- a bald option. All hairstyles are now not tied to gender. [...]
Last two years Square Enix announced that they now have another development team focused on new RPG titles, called the Tokyo RPG Factory. Their first game, I Am Setsuna served as a callback from the 16-bit era of RPGs like Chrono Trigger but last August saw reports of the game not doing so well sales wise.
However, the factory continues to churn with the announcement of its next game, titled Lost Sphear. As a you boy named Kanata, you found your home and its people slowly vanishing. As so you set out on a adventure with a band of friends to stop this from continuing further and save the world.
As seen in the trailer, combat wise it still sticks close to the Chrono [...]
Final Fantasy XV continues to be worked on. The latest update to land for this month is a mostly a minor one, an addition of one new recipe: “stinky tofu” (thank the survey answers from players of Taiwan for this), leaderboards for the Timed Quests, a new snapshot winner added into the game and various bug fixes. Additionally, a new outfit for Noctis will appear seperately on the Playstaion Store on May 30, pictured above.
The most peculiar of additions in the update however is a survey located in the Special section of the main menu. It simply asks you what sort of future content you are looking forward to, with high votes to be considered for future [...]
