Tournament circuits for fighting games have grown in numbers over the years. With Capcom Pro Tour being the prime example, other fighting game series such as Injustice, Killer Instinct and King Of Fighters have follow suit. Now here comes a new challenger.
Bandai Namco, in partnership with Twitch, has announced its own tournament circuit for Tekken 7. Called the Tekken World Tour, players of three regions (The Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific) compete for points in online matches and official tournaments to gain points, with the top 5 of each region’s leaderboard, plus the Tekken 7 champion at EVO, will compete in the Tekken World Tour Finals event, with up to $200,000 [...]
Beam is one of the many new streaming platform that aims to go toe-to-toe with the likes of Twitch and Youtube Gaming. Bought by Microsoft last year, the service has seen close integration with the Xbox One and Windows 10 (specifically after the Creator’s Update).
Today, Microsoft has decided to rebrand the service from Beam to Mixer. On the name change, Mixer co-founders Matt Salsamendi explained that it is a team effort, and to help the platform “grow to every major market in the world”.
“We chose Mixer as our new name because it represents what we love most about the service….how it brings people together,” as quoted from the blog post [...]
How do you pull off a story mode in a fighting game? The easy answer would be sprinkling a little bit of story in between fights. But NetherRealm Studios have always gone one step further with its story modes. High-quality cinematics and seamless transitions from cinematic to fighting have been the trademark of the developer team. Other studios like Capcom have even acknowledged the high bar the Mortal Kombat series and the first Injustice have put for a fighting game story mode.
Injustice 2 raises the bar further.
With the Injustice universe being its own canon in the DC universe, there is now an official comic book line for the storyline, Injustice 2 takes place after [...]
In an interview with PC Invasion, Sega Europe’s Senior Vice President of Commercial Publishing, John Clark, has confirmed that over 170,000 copies of the recently released PC port of Bayonetta has been sold.
It may not seem as huge, but this is a port of an eight year old game that was released last month. Clark mentioned that Sega is happy with the current sales numbers, and expect to see more PC ports coming down the horizon. No word on what will be the next game to receive a PC release.
Check out the full interview where Clark shared some tidbits on how the effort goes on making a PC port possible.
Bayonetta’s PC release comes as a surprise after a tease [...]
Final Fantasy XV continues to be worked on. The latest update to land for this month is a mostly a minor one, an addition of one new recipe: “stinky tofu” (thank the survey answers from players of Taiwan for this), leaderboards for the Timed Quests, a new snapshot winner added into the game and various bug fixes. Additionally, a new outfit for Noctis will appear seperately on the Playstaion Store on May 30, pictured above.
The most peculiar of additions in the update however is a survey located in the Special section of the main menu. It simply asks you what sort of future content you are looking forward to, with high votes to be considered for future [...]
Take back your heart. Dragon’s Dogma is an action RPG from Capcom led by the one of the designers behind the Devil May Cry series. Its combat is more action-oriented (you can climb on monsters) than your average RPG, but it has all the elements of a classic fantasy medieval setting. In case you missed the PS3 and Xbox 360 release years ago (and don’t prefer to play it on PC, which was released last year) the game will be out for the current generation of consoles.
No proper release date was revealed but it is expected to be out this fall (September-December).
It’s a fun action RPG. The variety in combat, as well as the unique Pawn system that lets you [...]
Nadeo and Ubisoft has released TrackMania 2: Lagoon today on Steam and uPlay. The latest editon of their TrackMania 2 series (which initially released in 2011!), “has players racing on raised tracks above a tropical island filled with insane activities”, according to their Steam page.
The tracks are based on the Lagoon Rollercoaster maps from TrackMania Turbo (which is also a pretty good game). The gameplay is as same as it’s previous iteration: You race the clock in various type of tracks to win medals. It also comes with a Trackmania multiplayer channel, an exclusive solo campaign, a new game mode and user-generated content thanks to an upgrade to their [...]
It has been one year since Overwatch first launched. It was so well accepted it has now 30 million players, and has since been regularly updated with new modes, cosmetics, maps and heroes.
To celebrate its one year anniversary, a new limited time event has appeared. Coming with that is a ton of new cosmetics (legendary skins, new dance emotes) as well as an additional three arena maps for duels (which were only limited to only one before this).
If you have yet to buy Overwatch, it is currently on sale on all platforms as well.
We gave a glowing review when Overwatch first released, and after a year it still remains one of the more satisfying team shooters out [...]
Le Mans is the premier 24 hour racing event, and in partnership with Porsche and the organizers Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), the last event for Season 3 of the Forza Racing Championship will culminate there as well.
Over 100 gamers will join the race drivers at the circuit of La Sarthe during Le Mans with a prize pool of $100,000 USD. The Forza RC event is classified under the Official Endurance Esports Category, which means the podium finishes will be on the same podium as the other race drivers during the victory celebration.
This is one close partnership that developers Turn 10 had established, but it has come from years sponsoring Le Mans. Having the [...]

Far Cry 5 has already been announced earlier, but all we got was a title and a logo. Ubisoft continues to tease us with a few more bits of information of the its latest open-world FPS romp.
There is now four short clips teasing the new location: Hope County, Montana, USA.
From the looks of the teaser, all shot in live-action, more murders will be happening in the countryside. The open landscape that it entails should fit with the now familiar Far Cry formula. It also looks so far to be in the modern time, as opposed to the rumored Wild West setting.
The first reveal will be on May 26. With E3 looming by, expect to see even more info about Far Cry 5 by then as [...]
